Galaxy S9

With the release of the S9 and S9+, Samsung decided against major design changes (with the exception of moving the fingerprint sensor back under the camera) and focused more on the features, specs, and camera. Galaxy S8

Praised by critics for its design and formfactor as well as an updated camera, the S8 saw major changes to the Samsung Galaxy line. In addition to dropping the Edge moniker for the S8+, the device received larger screens with curved sides, iris and facial recognition, a virtual assistant called Bixby, and desktop support for a mouse and keyboard. The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active was later added to the line and featured more rugged materials that protected against shock, shatter, water, and dust.

Galaxy S7

Originally codenamed “Project Lucky”, the Samsung Galaxy S7 was released in March 2016. Fans hailed the return of the microSD card slot along with the smartphone’s water-resistant capabilities. Galaxy S6

Galaxy S5
