Galaxy S21 Plus Ares Clear Rugged Case - Purple

For my Samsung Galaxy S21+ 5G, I had long used a onepiece case in clear plastic. Eventually, the clear plastic discolored and started to crack and break apart. I wasn't ready to upgrade my phone. So, I searched online to find a new replacement case and found this twopiece iBlason case which works much better than my original case. It includes a purple rubber-like body with a clear plastic back and a separate front metal bezel to hold the phone in place. The entire case assembly fits my phone perfectly, and is both comfortable to hold and shaped with bumper corners that provide friction points to help hold my phone firmly in any of my front pants pockets. The case also has an unusual flap door for securely covering the USB-C charging and signal port.

At first, I thought this flap door was an unnecessary and inconvenient obstacle to plugging in the phone. I soon realized that this flap door provides both helpful protection to keep the port clean and also helps to secure the cable when it is plugged in. I only needed to learn to hold the flap door open with the pinky finger of my holding hand while plugging in the cable. Soon, I stopped noticing my hand holding open that flap door to plug in the cable, and fully recognized its overall utility.

In addition, the case back perfectly frames the uncovered camera lenses and flashlight, and additional holes perfectly uncover the speaker and microphone ports to allow the great stereo sound that my phone provides.

The only minor drawback is that I should have replaced the screen protector on my phone before installing the case. The process of installing the case lifted two corners of my original screen protector slightly. Knowing that beforehand, I would install the new screen protector to be clear of all the screen corners so that none of the screen protector corners is impinged by the bezel of the iBlason case as I snap it into place. Also, at this point, the lifted protector corners don't affect phone operations in any way. So, I won't bother disassembling the case to replace the original protector, at least for now.

Sturdy. Went to replace my case and discovered the case was meant for a 22 5g not a 21 5g

It took a minute to get the case on, but I really like it. I have dropped my phone a few times with this case on, and is very durable. The color is also just as it is in the photo. I would buy again for my next phone if that made a case for it.The reason only four stars, is the difficulty with trying to pull the port protector away to plug in your charging cable. I have cut mine off, as it was a pain in the rear.

I like everything about this case except that it makes my screen protect come up on the sides . It's a tight fit.All around a good case though.
